NHF praises Chancellor’s commitment to housing

An extra £170 million to build social homes, announced in today’s public expenditure review by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, was praised by the National Housing Federation (NHF), but it expressed uncertainty about the £780 million of savings the Communities & Local Government (CLG) department is expected to make.

CLG performance improves, but can do better say MPs

The Department of Communities & Local Government (DCLG) has improved its performance over the last year, according to the committee of MPs tasked with scrutinising its performance, but it has yet to become the kind of “big hitter” in Whitehall circles that it needs to be.
