Appeal for budding artists to bring breath of fresh air to day centre
A Tameside day centre is appealing for local artists to get out their paint pots to create a mural for its newly transformed garden.
Accord Housing Association’s Rydal House Day Centre in Tameside, provides day care for 20 adults aged 65 and over with dementia and associated conditions. It delivers activities such as tai chi, yoga and arts and crafts.
The centre’s garden has recently undergone a make-over and staff are keen to spruce up the garden wall.
It’s hoped that the mural and new garden will encourage members of the centre to use it to socialise.
Zoe Littlewood, day services manager at the centre, said: “We wanted to revamp the garden to bring ‘fresh air’ into the lives of our residents.
“The garden is now somewhere residents can sit and enjoy the summer sun and the icing on the cake is to have a lovely scene painted on the outside wall.
“All the paints will be provided so if you are interested, pick up your paint brushes and get in touch!”
