Bracknell Forest Homes showcase retirement housing schemes

Bracknell Forest Homes will this month hold free open days at all eleven of its sheltered housing schemes.

The schemes will open their doors and invite older people and their guests to find out more about retirement accommodation. It will be a celebration of Bracknell Forest Homes’ sheltered housing schemes with staff and residents on hand to provide information and give first-hand experience of our services and accommodation.

Each scheme will have tea, coffee and cakes (provided by MITIE Property Services who are one of the contractors working on the £61 million major works programme). Some schemes will have entertainers, tombolas and craft stalls in their communal lounges.

Linda Wells, housing and community services director, said: “This event is an ideal opportunity for older people who are thinking about their retirement options to visit our schemes and see the benefits of sheltered housing. We have 11 schemes, 400 residents and 33 staff. We extend a warm welcome to anyone interested and can offer free local transport to the schemes for anyone who needs it.”

The open days will be held on August 11.
