Brent neighbourhood warden recognised for tackling anti social behaviour
A neighbourhood warden working for Brent Housing Partnership has been shortlisted for his work in tackling anti-social behaviour in Brent.
Francis Kabia, who won a Housing Hero Award earlier this year, has been named a finalist for the Social Landlords Crime and Nuisance Group (SLCNG) Awards 2010.
The winners will be announced at the SLCNG annual ASB conference dinner on the 2 November at the Hilton Metropole, Birmingham.
Francis Kabia, who has been working as a neighbourhood warden in South Kilburn, Brent since 2002, has been shortlisted alongside Anita McGinley from South Essex Homes, and Mike Baggett from Two Rivers Housing. All three nominees have been shortlisted for exceptional performance by an employee of a SLCNG member organisation in tackling anti-social behaviour and making a real and sustained difference to an individual or a community.
Gerry Doherty, chief executive of BHP said:
“We are all really proud of Francis for being shortlisted for this award. Francis is extremely dedicated and committed to protecting the community and reducing the fear and incidences of crime. His presence is a reassurance to all who live in the local area. These awards are a great way of recognising our local heroes and giving them the appreciation they deserve”.
