Bristol partnership helps former substance misusers

Jephson Homes Housing Association, Bristol City Council, the Safer Bristol Drug Strategy Team and the Department of Health (DoH) have joined forces on a unique partnership project to help people who have completed treatment for substance misuse.

The DoH-funded project, with additional support from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), has enabled Jephson Homes to purchase and furnish four two-bedroom properties with student-housing style, shared facilities. These homes will house eight people who have completed treatment for substance misuse and require support while they reintegrate into the community.

Sue Bandcroft, senior commissioning manager of the Bristol drug strategy team said: “This project is a great example of how resources from different departments, such as housing and health, can be pooled together to get an excellent result for the community.”
