CIH announces candidates for vice president
The Chartered Institute of Housing has announced the two candidates selected to run for the post of CIH vice president for 2012.
The two candidates, Jan Taranczuk, an experienced interim manager, and Paul Tennant, group chief executive of Orbit Housing Group, have been openly recruited based on skills and experience and will face a member vote in December to determine which one of them will be proposed for the post. The person elected vice president will become CIH president in 2013.
Grainia Long, CIH interim chief executive, commented: “This is a departure for CIH and we are very excited about having given our membership the opportunity to stand for Vice President and to vote on their choice of candidate. It is a time of very positive change for our organisation, and we look forward to the new Vice President taking his place alongside our incoming President, Robin Lawler, and the new Governing Board in January, subject to member approval.”
Jan Taranczuk said: “I'm really pleased to have been shortlisted and to be involved in this exciting time of change, for both the sector and the CIH. I hope that as many members as possible will take this opportunity to vote and help shape the future direction of their Institute.”
Paul Tennant added: “This is a really exciting time to be involved in housing as we transform to rise to new challenges and maximise future opportunities. The CIH’s role today is more important than ever and I would be delighted to support its own evolution as it responds to the changing environment.”
