CIH teams up with East Midlands Housing Association
The Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) and East Midlands Housing Association (EMHA) have officially launched a strategic partnership, which will form a major part EMHA's plans to develop excellence in its housing teams.
This long-term agreement between EMHA, which provides more than 8000 homes across the East Midlands, and the professional body for housing was officially launched on 9 February at the CIH Presidential Dinner, Natural History Museum, London.
The new partnership will provide EMHA's housing staff with access to the many benefits of CIH membership, giving them the tools to translate policy into practice in their day-to-day roles. CIH and EMHA are also working together to design a bespoke programme of learning opportunities, including an accredited programme of training to develop the professional skills of front-line housing officers and a programme of targeted day training sessions to enable employees to effectively manage the issues they face as housing professionals.
Speaking at the launch of the partnership, CIH chief executive, Sarah Webb, said: "We are delighted to have entered into such a significant relationship with East Midlands Housing Association.
“CIH is proud to support housing professionals who are really making a difference to the lives of residents.
“This partnership will allow EMHA's residents to benefit from one of the most professional, skilled, and up-to-date housing teams in the UK. I look forward to a partnership that continues to support the individual professional development of EMHA's housing staff for years to come".
Christine Ashton, managing director of EMHA, said: “The agreement will enable our well informed and skilled staff to learn from the unique experience of CIH of translating policy into highly effective practice, which will make a difference to the everyday lives of our tenants".
