Connaught wins £117m contract
A2Dominion Group has appointed Connaught Partnerships to deliver a £117million integrated approach to asset management delivery for its stock of 30,000 houses.
The twelve-year contract will start on 3 November 2008 and will see homes benefit principally from reactive maintenance services and void refurbishment works. The service will also be significantly improved and a seamlessly provided through an integrated approach to the customer services centre and IT systems, with real-time job tracking.
Through separate framework contracts, work will also be carried out over time to ensure homes meet the Government's Decent Homes Standards.
As well as improvement to the housing stock, the contract will also bring additional benefits; including new jobs and the regeneration of key housing schemes across the Group's operational area.
The A2Dominion Group has been created by the recent merger between A2 and Dominion Housing Groups. The group is one of the largest providers of affordable housing in the South East.
David Lingeman, A2Dominion's director of property services, said: "We're delighted to have Connaught on board after a vigorous, competitive tendering process.
"As one of the first major initiatives for the A2 Dominion Group, this is a significant project for us, not just because of its size but also because of the effect it will have on improving the quality and efficiency of the maintenance services our residents receive on a daily basis. This will lead to better-maintained homes and, we hope, greater resident satisfaction."
Cliff Parsons, director for Connaught Partnerships, said: "We are delighted to be working in partnership with A2Dominion to deliver vital and sustainable improvements to homes and communities across the South East."
The Government's Decent Home Standard aims to ensure all homes are modern, warm and weatherproof by 2010.
