Consider the industry, girls

Contractor Apollo has been doing its bit to raise awareness of the construction industry as a career of choice for schoolgirls to consider, running a recent ‘Women in Industry’ event La Sainte Union Girls’ School in Camden, London.

The event aimed to give the students an insight into working in the construction industry. The roles represented at the event by women employed by Apollo included site manager, business development manager, quantity surveyor, environmental and project manager, photographer, community investment manager and communications manager.

Apollo’s community investment manager, Marilyn Garber, organised the day. She said: “We were really delighted to have the opportunity to run this event, and to be able to give the students an informative insight into the wide variety of roles available in the construction industry.
