Construction company answers charity’s call

Staff at Nottinghamshire-based construction company Robert Woodhead ditched their old mobile phones in the name of charity, raising £252 for WaterAid.

The company posted the cheque to the international water charity this month, helping some of the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.

David Woodhead, Robert Woodhead Ltd managing director, said: “It’s a pleasure to help WaterAid. The money we’ve raised has given 16 people access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation. I encourage more businesses to consider charities when discarding unwanted mobiles.”

WaterAid’s vision is of a world where everyone has access to safe water and sanitation.

Their mission is to transform lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world’s poorest communities.
