Coventry residents design neighbourhood

13th August 2008

Residents from a disadvantaged area of Coventry will decide exactly how to renovate their neighbourhood, as part of a new 'DIY Streets' project launched last week.

Residents living on Iden Road met with designers to plan ways to transform their neighbourhood into a more desirable place to live, looking at ways to reduce traffic and make the street look more attractive.

It one of only 11 streets in the UK to have been selected to take part in the project.

It will be jointly run by Sustrans, housing association Midland Heart, Coventry City Council and the tenants themselves.
