Dale & Valley Homes offer tenants improved insurance deal

Dale & Valley Homes is offering council house tenants an improved deal on home contents insurance to encourage them to protect their belongings.

Residents can get accidental damage cover as standard as part of the easily-affordable policy.

Kath Wright, neighbourhood manager for Dale & Valley Homes, said: “Without proper insurance our customers risk losing everything if, God forbid, there is a burglary, fire or other disaster.

“Often people overlook insurance or decide it is too expensive but that is a false economy. People work hard for their property and we want to see them protected in the event of a disaster.

“To that end the company has a contract with Royal & Sun Alliance to provide an affordable policy which our customers can pay for weekly.

She continued: “Recently we have renewed that contract and improved the cover being offered to customers to include accidental damage.

“So far more than 500 customers have taken up this insurance and we are hoping the improved cover will persuade more take out a policy.”
