Decent Homes standard reached with 1000th new kitchen
A SUSSEX couple recently became the 1000th residents to receive a brand new kitchen, installed as part of a £6m improvement programme carried out in the southeast.
Peter and Janet Seymour, received the kitchen as a result of the partnership between affordable housing provider Home and Connaught Partnerships.
The two have entered into a five-year partnership to replace old kitchens and bathrooms in rented properties managed by Home across the southeast.
The work is being carried out as part of the Decent Homes programme.
Jeremy Lear, Senior Building Surveyor for Home said:
"Strategically, partnering with Connaught and other contractors such as MITIE Property Services have greatly enabled the delivery of Home's Decent Homes programme.
"We are continuously improving working processes, with the reward of reaching customer satisfaction levels that are at 98%.”
Connaught's Area Director, John Lewthwaite added:
"Achieving the 1000th kitchen endorses the long-term investment and commitment to Home residents. Our partnership has been focused on customer service and we continue to consult and evolve our delivery of Decent Homes, keeping the needs of the residents foremost. Tenants are already benefiting from internal works, improved access, environmental and safety improvements."
