Excellence from the Accord Group

The Accord Group – a family of seven housing associations - is celebrating after its Care & Support services were awarded an excellence standard by a national body.

The Birmingham & Black Country based housing group, which provides care and support services to people across the Midlands, was awarded the Investors in Excellence Standard.

The Accord Group partners are Accord, Ashram, Caldmore and Moseley & District housing associations, bchs community regeneration agency, Fry Housing Trust and Redditch Co-operative Homes.

In a report, the Investors in Excellence body praised Accord’s Care & Support services as having “a strong focus on people” and being “a dynamic organisation”.

The report also commended the Care & Support services for sharing good practice with other organisations and being passionate about delivering its services.

Alex Hicken, new business and quality manager for Accord, said: “Our Care & Support staff work extremely hard to provide a structured approach to our services so we’re very proud to be recognised by Investors in Excellence.

“We have developed a number of innovative models to aid people with conditions such as dementia and we have a dedicated health and wellbeing team that strive to provide excellent services for all our residents.

“We now hope that the achievement of this award will support us to expand and grow our Care & Support services even further.”

To gain the award, the Accord Group took part in a number of self assessment sessions assisted by Investors in Excellence and completed a detailed online tool.
