Fairgrove Homes marks first loan under the Custom Build programme with exhibition in Morton, Derbyshire

Fairgrove Homes is holding an exhibition to mark the first loan under the Custom Build programme – a Government backed scheme providing short-term finance to help unlock group custom build or self-build schemes.

The exhibition, which is being held in Morton, Derbyshire, on Saturday 16 February, will explain how people can own a home through Custom Build thanks to financial support from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), which manages the scheme.

There are nine Custom Build homes for sale at the site, with prices starting from £78,000. The fully serviced plots come complete with planning for four and five bedroom homes from a choice of Fairgrove’s own designs, available with alternative internal layouts and the option of full custom-build or self-finish from a watertight stage.

Steve Midgley, managing director at Fairgrove Homes said:  “We are delighted to be one of the first in the country to be able to offer prime plots of land for sale under the new Custom Build scheme. It’s the perfect solution for those who want a say in the design of their home, and want to save money at the same time.”

The aim of the Custom Build fund is to stimulate the growth of the custom build homes market by backing more projects and investing in prime locations to meet the demand for new housing.

Sarah Coutts, HCA area manager, said:  “It is great to see how our investment will make such a change for local people. This project from Fairgrove Homes will allow local people to own the home of their dreams at a price they can afford. As the homes are sold, the loan will be repaid to the HCA to allow even more people take up this opportunity.”

Fairgrove is inviting prospective buyers to find out more on Saturday 16 February at the Morton Village Hall, Morton, DE55 6HH. The event will feature an explanation of what custom build is and the details of the homes available at The Orchards.
