Gallions awarded Excellence in Communities

Gallions Housing Association, which owns and manages homes across south and east London, has been awarded Excellence in Communities for the second year in succession.

The award, run by Quality Housing Services, judges Gallions’ services to its residents against a comprehensive set of eight criteria including how it manages anti-social behaviour and how it encourages residents to get more involved in the local community. The award means that Gallions reached the required performance level.

Gallions’ chief executive, Tony Cotter, said:
“Being awarded Excellence in Communities for the second year in a row is great achievement. We want to be more than just a housing provider and so put a great deal of emphasis on our community services. This award is in recognition of that and also an acknowledgement of the hard work our staff put in”.

The assessor was full of praise and highlighted Gallions’ commitment to Excellence in Communities in his report. He was particularly impressed with the organisation’s work to push forward the green agenda and encourage resident participation.
