Go ahead for £15m Southampton estate regeneration
The first phase of a £15million regeneration of a Southampton council estate has been granted approval.
Barratt Homes builders and First Wessex housing association have been appointed by Southampton City Council to carry out the project at Hinkler Parade in Thornhill.
The 1960s buildings will be replaced with 106 new homes, five new shops and a community centre. The homes will be available for sale, rent and shared ownership.
Demolition of the existing shops and flats is due to start next week.
