A Guinness Northern Counties’ employee from Manchester has been honoured with a ‘Star Award’ from the housing association for dedication and support to customers and colleagues.

Sharon Lewis, community investment manager, was one of just five individuals from the association’s 700 strong workforce to be singled out for an award, at a ceremony at the Queen’s Hotel in Leeds.

She was nominated by customers of the association for her outstanding contribution to the local community centre, the Cheetwood Centre, and her continuous support of projects including setting up the customer panel.

John Cockerham, director of neighbourhood services said: “It was fantastic to see Sharon receive this award. I have seen at first hand her tireless work to help maintain the excellent services provided at the Cheetwood Centre and generally to her approach to working with our Customers and Communities, she is an example to all”

Sharon Lewis said: “I am so thrilled to win this award and want to thank all the wonderful staff, residents and partners that I have the pleasure to work with – they inspire me every day to do more for our residents and communities.”
