HARCA framework a Denne deal
An East London social housing provider has appointed contractor Denne, part of the Leadbitter Group, a place on its four year framework to carry out regeneration and development work.
Poplar HARCA – Housing & Regeneration Community Association – owns and manages around 8,500 homes in Poplar, East London, and its framework programme consist of 30 separate projects, 90 per cent of which consist of newbuild schemes. The projects will include affordable and rented accommodation, specialist and supported housing, low cost home ownership and key worker accommodation. Eight of these are to be delivered in 2009/10, 11 in 2010/11 and the rest from 2011 onwards.
“Denne’s success in securing a place on this framework is a fantastic achievement and is due to our proven track record in delivering affordable housing, residential development and regeneration,” said Bob Rendell, Leadbitter Group’s chief executive.
“It is also a direct result on the increased standing and recognition that our group, including Denne, the largest Kent-based contractor, has achieved. We have developed extensive expertise in this sector and constantly strive to gain new knowledge and to fully understand the needs of our clients, delivering schemes that maximise value, achieve certainty of delivery and exceed expectations. I am enormously proud of the continued hard work, dedication and professionalism shown by everyone at Denne.”
