Herbert T Forest appoints new chief exec

Social housing contractor Herbert T Forest has appointed Lee McCarren as its new chief executive. He is only the third person to hold the post in the company's 54-year history.

McCarren, who is the first chief executive outside the Forrest family to head up the Preston-based firm, joins after 14 years at Bardsley Construction, two of which were spent as chief executive.

Former chief executive Tim Forrest, who has held the position since 1993, will remain on the board of directors but focus more of his time on promoting training and skills development within the construction industry.
