Inspace takes Richmond sheltered housing project

23rd June 2009

Inspace has won a £5.3million project to build extra care housing for Richmond Housing Partnership.

The contract on Dean Road in Hampton, Middlesex was won in competitive tender and will see 41 units and a day centre built on land previously occupied by houses and shops.

The units will be available on a shared ownership basis as well as affordable rent, while the day centre will be run by Richmond Council.

The lightweight steel frame block will consist of one and two bedroom apartments, along with staff offices, a kitchen and dining area, retail unit and landscaped courtyard.

The scheme is being produced by Richmond Housing Partnership with the support and collaboration of LB Richmond and the Department of Health. It will have a green roof and a communal heating system partly powered by solar thermal panels.

Inspace is working with architect RPS on the scheme which is due to be completed in July 2010.
