Jephson Homes completes affordable homes in Skipton
Jephson Homes Housing Association has marked the completion of 38 affordable homes at Carleton Road, Skipton, North Yorkshire.
The scheme was jointly funded by the Homes and Communities Agency and by Jephson at a total cost of £4million. The properties have been built on behalf of Jephson by national construction and development firm, Southdale, and are available for affordable rent and shared ownership.
The properties have been built on a former allotment site, and have been let to local people through the Craven District Council choice based lettings scheme at weekly rents ranging from £80 for a two bedroomed flat to £107 for a four bedroomed house. The shared ownership properties have been sold to local people on initial equity shares of 25 per cent.
Stuart Shore, Jephson’s northern regional director, said:
“Jephson is delighted to have built these new affordable homes in an area of such high housing need. We are very grateful to Craven District Council for their support and to the Homes and Communities Agency who provided £2.36million to help fund the development.”
