Money matters made clear for Wear Valley council tenants

Council tenants in Wear Valley are being offered a new free and confidential money advice service.
Dale & Valley Homes has brought in the independent service Moneymadeclear to help customers in financial trouble.

The service provided by the Financial Services Authority is offered online, by telephone and face to face and offers advice on money management issues as wide ranging as saving, budgeting, retirement planning and coping with a relationship split.

Louise Harrison, financial inclusion officer, said: “A lot of our customers are existing on low incomes and it is important for them to have access to good quality financial advice.

“We want our customers to manage their finances, including their rent payments, responsibly but we also need the advice they receive to be confidential and impartial.

“Bringing in an outside organisation to do this is a simple way to meet our needs and those of our customers.

“Advice sessions over the telephone cost no more that the standard national call rate and face-to-face sessions are completely free.”

More information is available from www.moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk or by calling Louise on 0800 0830 333.
