Morrison rescues 24 jobs in Lambeth

Morrison has re-employed 24 former Connaught Partnerships staff after the company was placed in administration last week.

The 18 trades people and six admin staff previously held positions with the stricken contractor’s Lambeth Living contract. The full delivery of housing repairs services with the Borough of Lambeth has now resumed, Morrison said.

The re-employment of the Connaught staff has come after Morrison’s promise last week to offer full continuity of employment to Connaught employees working on social housing repairs contracts.

Guy Wakeley, chief executive of Morrison, said: “Morrison is ideally positioned to take on Connaught’s staff as a secure and growing national provider with a resilient operating network and a robust and debt free balance sheet. We are pleased to have been able to offer these opportunities so quickly.

“It is an uncertain time for Connaught’s staff and their families and we are delighted to be able to provide them with continuity of employment on our contract with Lambeth Living. By providing these employment opportunities we are also able to offer assistance to our client by ensuring a continuous high class of service is delivered to its tenants during this period of upheaval.”
