New homes delivered for Cornwall
Sanctuary Group has delivered a new energy efficient scheme in Launceston, Cornwall, that provides 34 new affordable homes for local residents.
Miller House on Dunheved Road was delivered in partnership with Cornwall Council and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). The scheme, a redevelopment of a former care home, is located on a prominent site that greets visitors to Launceston as they arrive into the town.
It comprises 33 two-bedroom and a single one-bedroom apartment, all properties have been built to Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes with some enjoying views across the local town and countryside.
The £2.4 million development was made possible thanks to an investment of over £1.5 million from the HCA, the national housing and regeneration agency for England, and all apartments are available to local residents for rent.
Peter Martin, Sanctuary’s group director – development, said: “The completion of this development is further evidence of Sanctuary’s long-term commitment to meet the growing need for high quality housing in communities such as Launceston by creating local homes for local people. I am sure these properties will make a big difference to the area and we now look forward to welcoming residents into their new homes.”
