New housing for Derby

Around 240 new affordable homes are to be built in Derby.

Part of the funding for this scheme was awarded to Friendship Care and Housing's parent company Longhurst Group and Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA).

Working in partnership, both organisations were successfully placed in the top ten largest award allocations from the Housing Corporations National Affordable Housing Programme for 2008-11.

Ian Jackson, director of Development at Longhurst Group and representing Friendship said: "I am delighted that we have been successful in securing a significant contribution toward this scheme, with the residents of Derby ultimately sharing the benefit."

Friendship currently manages over 3,600 homes across the Midlands region.
