New Progress receives code of good practice accreditation
New Progress has achieved the Centre of Housing and Support (CHS) Code of Practice status - the only sheltered housing ‘kitemark’ for service quality.
It was awarded to the housing association for its consistency in providing a high quality service in supporting its sheltered housing residents as well as exceeding nationally agreed standards.
Sue Whitham, head of housing support for New Progress, said: “I am delighted with the outcome and would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff and residents who were involved during the process. The result is a credit to them all and recognises many months of hard work.”
The CHS Code of Practice status offers New Progress the opportunity to benchmark its services against nationally recognised standards and good practice, as well as acting as a tool for continuous improvement”.
Jan Whitfield, a resident on New Progress’s working party said: “As residents, we had a big input and felt part of the team. It was quite a challenge but very interesting. We helped to check the portfolios and picked out the best examples to support the codes of practice. I’m looking forward to future meetings so that we can help make the service even better.”
