Nottingham wins £14m for housing
Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) has been awarded the largest single Housing Corporation grant this year for the development of affordable housing in the East Midlands.
NCHA’s initial funding allocation for the period 2008/11 is for £14,763,457 and will contribute towards building 338 quality affordable new homes across the region. As well as rented accommodation, the new builds will also include shared-ownership homes to help new buyers onto the housing ladder.
Additional funding from the Housing Corporation will be made available throughout the next two years to further increase this amount for more development.
This allocation comprises the largest part of a grant of over £40million which has been allocated to the Blue Skies Consortium. The Blue Skies Consortium consists of 12 member housing associations of which NCHA is a lead member.
