Over 750 new homes announced in Yorkshire and The Humber

The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has confirmed funding to provide over 750 new homes in Yorkshire and The Humber in addition to the 987 completed so far this year.

David Curtis, director for Yorkshire and The Humber at the HCA said: “We are delighted to confirm that having asked our partners to identify their priorities over the next year we will be able to provide funding of up to £20 million this year to enable work on these homes to be started.

“The schemes will be confirmed with our partners over the next few weeks, but we expect that this investment will make possible over 500 new homes for rent and 250 for sale.”

These homes are being funded through the National Affordable Housing Programme and will be across the region to meet the differing needs of both the urban centres and rural communities. They will be built by local authorities and registered providers of social housing to ensure that people are able to live in the communities of their choice and local authorities can meet their needs as effectively as possible.
