Riverside evicts tenant following conviction for growing drugs
An Everton man who has been convicted of cultivating a cannabis factory in his rented home has been evicted by his social landlord.
Stephen Mason, 38 has been ordered to leave his home in Stockbridge Street after Recorder Pratt QC found in favour of Riverside at Liverpool County Court.
Mason, who has also been convicted of being in possession of heroin and crack cocaine and illegally abstracting electricity, does not use the property as his sole and principle home and has given an alternative address to the police. He has also repeatedly failed to allow access to contractors to carry out improvement works.
Riverside Director Tom McGuire said: “Mr Mason was not using the property as a home, he was merely using it as a base to grow drugs. We will not tolerate any kind of criminal activities, in our neighbourhoods.”
