Sanctuary helps residents to clean up
Residents from Sanctuary Housing’s Lightowler Close in Halifax rolled up their sleeves recently in a bid to clean up their estate.
They were joined in the clean up by representatives from Sanctuary Housing, Halifax Central Initiative and Calderdale Council’s street cleansing team who helped organise the event.
A number of skips were placed around the estate and the combined efforts of residents and staff saw all unwanted rubbish fully cleared by the end of the day.
Wendy Banks, Sanctuary’s regional manager for the North, said: ““We all have a responsibility to look after the environment and this was an ideal opportunity for us to do our bit.
“It’s also been a great chance for residents from this thriving multicultural neighbourhood to get to know each other and make their community a cleaner and more pleasant area to live.”
