South Tyneside staff have technology at their fingertips

South Tyneside Homes, who manage and maintain around 18,000 council homes in the borough, have agreed a five-year contract with BT South Tyneside to provide them with technology and services.

Computer systems, custom-built by BT, will allow South Tyneside Homes staff to work more quickly and efficiently in a variety of functions, including customer service, procurement, finance and personnel.

Isobel Riley, chief executive of South Tyneside Homes, said: “Our investment in these fully managed desktops will mean more efficient working and ensure that our staff have the latest information at their fingertips when dealing with our customers and partners. The contract also will provide financial savings while helping us to continue to improve the services we deliver on our journey to excellence.”

BT South Tyneside will also provide laptops and a brand new ‘self service’ technology which will enable staff to check their own pay, access other information online, as well as helping with important day-to-day administration.
