Staff from Redrow Homes trial paper free NVQ
A group of sales consultants from Redrow Homes have trialled a new paper-free national qualification.
The nine staff from Redrow’s Tamworth-based Midlands operation completed a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in the sale of residential property, using a system based entirely on electronic submissions rather than the more long-winded, traditional paper-based portfolio.
The group has trialled the system for the National House-Building Council (NHBC) and have been fast-tracked to success in just six months, instead of the usual 12.
Rob Carr, a training advisor at Redrow’s national training centre in Tamworth, said: “We were delighted to trial this new way of working. It’s proven to be more practical and has speeded up the whole process.
“We now plan to introduce the course into the training programmes for sales staff from our other regional companies around the UK.
“Although our sales consultants have extensive knowledge and experience in the field of selling new homes, the NVQ is a great asset as they can earn a recognised accreditation proving their competence.”
In order to pass the course and gain a level 2 qualification, sales consultants must demonstrate their experience in several areas, including the safety and security of people and property, customer relationships, dealing with customer enquiries, distributing marketing materials to customers, organising and accompanying viewings of properties and qualifying prospective buyers.
Area sales managers with wider responsibilities can gain a more advanced level 3 qualification by completing an additional two units focused on implementing marketing plans and negotiating the sale of properties in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
