Sunderland Housing Award
Sunderland City Council awards Sunderland Housing Group for best housing development.
Sunderland Housing Group (SHG) were awarded the Building Control Quality Award for Best Housing Project, for their development at Saint Court, Doxford Park.
The Design and Build Team at SHG won the award for the development, ahead of every other building development in the City.
Athol Walton, Head of Construction, said: "We are honoured to have been selected for this award as it recognises the excellent build quality that our own in-house trades persons are achieving consistently and the standards they are setting for the rest of the industry.
He added:
"Doxford Park is a huge part of our regeneration plans for the City and it's fantastic that the hard work of our team and the close working relationship we have with building control have been highlighted."
Cllr Joe Lawson, Sunderland City Council's portfolio holder for Planning and Transportation, said:
"Whilst we continually strive to deliver developments that are high quality, we felt an awards ceremony provided us with a perfect opportunity to recognise those partners working with us to develop quality buildings and homes across the City."
The winners at the 2nd Annual Building Awards were selected from every development in Sunderland during the previous year.
All of the winners from Sunderland will go into the regional Building Awards event in May, if successful they will be entered into the national awards in London.
