William Davis starts on Rock Valley
Work has commenced on a £1.6million housing development in the heart of the Mansfield conservation area in Nottinghamshire.
The project, called Rock Valley, is a partnership between Loughborough-based developer William Davis, East Midlands Housing (EMH) and Mansfield District Council.
It will provide 16 new homes to be purchased under a shared ownership scheme.
Rock Valley is the final phase of a larger development project belonging to EMH, following the completion some time ago of the adjacent James Murray Mews and Rock Court. For the last five years the Rock Valley site has been a pay and display car park and will now be replaced by the new apartments - a mixture of 12 two-bedroom and four one-bedroom units on two and three floors.
The new properties have been designed in close consultation with Mansfield District Council’s planning and conservation officers.
William Davis will incorporate a range of traditional materials during construction including natural stone walls and clay pantiles to the roof to ensure the apartments remain in keeping with surrounding buildings within the conservation area.
Nic Jepson, group business development manager, William Davis said: “By working closely with our partners we have been able to provide high quality, affordable housing for Mansfield. The development at Rock Valley is a good example of what we can achieve through extensive consultation and we are confident this project will prove to be extremely popular with the local community.”
The scheme is scheduled for completion in December this year.
