Wrekin Housing Trust chosen as centre of excellence
The Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) has selected The Wrekin Housing Trust, along with only five other housing organisations from across the UK, as a centre of excellence in its field, to play host to senior housing delegates from a Hong Kong Housing Authority.
The delegates visited the Shropshire-based Trust as part of an ongoing study programme, at the request of the CIH. The delegates were keen to learn more about the Trust being a centre of good practice, particularly in areas such as asset management and maintenance.
Wayne Gethings, director of asset management at the Trust said: “We were honoured to be picked as a centre of excellence by the CIH for a presentation and short tour of the Trust.
“We pride ourselves on the first class service we provide to our tenants and we are proud to share the results with other housing providers both in the UK and overseas so to help them improve their own services.”
In addition to a presentation and a tour of the building, the delegates were also informed about the Trust’s plan for improving the current housing stock, ongoing improvements, customer involvement and how the Trust allocates investments in the housing stock.
