YHN praised for customer service

A Newcastle social landlord has become the first of its kind in the UK to achieve an industry standard at the first time of asking.

Your Homes Newcastle (YHN) was praised by assessors for having a high understanding of customer’s needs, following a customer service assessment.

The social housing provider was found to be ‘fully compliant’ with the government’s Customer Service Excellence (CSE) standards and it is the first organisation of its kind to attain full corporate recognition at the first attempt.

John Lee, chief executive at YHN, said: “We are delighted to have achieved the highest standard possible and we’re particularly proud to become the first organisation to achieve full corporate recognition at the first time of trying.

“Our staff recently helped tenants with gardening tasks and a litter-pick at some of our properties and I think that events like this really enable us to spend time with customers and get to understand their needs and concerns.”

YHN was also commended for developing a range of services to meet the needs of disadvantaged groups and for deriving customer insight from a variety of services such as customer focus groups.
